As a Leadinfo user, you can securely and automatically access your data through SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol). This functionality is especially valuable for businesses that want to receive Leadinfo data regularly in a safe, automated, and structured way, particularly because Leadinfo does not offer a public API.
What is SFTP and why use it?
SFTP is a secure protocol for transferring files over the internet. Unlike regular FTP, it encrypts both your login credentials and the contents of your files, making it a robust method for safely exchanging data between systems.
Please note: The use of SFTP is only available in the Pro subscription package. If the functionality is not included in your current package and you wish to use it, upgrade your account to Pro in the Leadinfo portal.
How Does It Work?
1. Request Access
Getting started is simple. Reach out to us at support@leadinfo.com to request SFTP access. We will create and provide the following credentials for your account:
-
Server Address – where your data files are hosted
-
Username – your unique login
-
Password or SSH Key – used for secure authentication
-
Port Number – typically port 22
Once set up, you’ll be able to connect and begin retrieving your data.
2. Connect to the SFTP Server
To access your data:
-
Use any SFTP client (e.g. FileZilla, WinSCP, Cyberduck, or command-line tools)
-
Enter the credentials we provided
-
Connect to the server and navigate through the available folders
Each morning, a new folder will be created automatically. This folder contains all data collected up to the previous day. Each folder is timestamped, so you can easily identify, by example, the latest folder.
If your account includes multiple domains, each folder will contain individual files per domain, making it easier to manage and organize your incoming data streams.
Good to know: SFTP does not offer real-time data access. Instead, a new folder is generated each morning, containing all the data collected up to the previous day.
Which data Is shared via SFTP?
Leadinfo sends over a wide range of data points. Below is an overview of the information you’ll receive through SFTP:

Download or Automate Transfers
When you access the folder, you have the flexibility to choose how to handle your data. You can either manually download the files or set up automation to integrate the data into your preferred system.
- Download Files: You can manually download the file(s) to your system.
- Automate Transfers: If you prefer, you can set up scripts to automatically retrieve the files at regular intervals. This allows you to easily integrate the data into your existing systems. You can set up the automation to transfer all data from the current day's folder based on the provided timestamp. This allows the latest data folder to be automatically transferred to your system without any need for manual action. Additionally, it is crucial to verify that your chosen system can effectively handle and store all the incoming data.
🔒 You’re in control: We securely host your data, but downloading, automating, and integrating it into your systems is up to you, giving you full flexibility over how and when you use your data.
