In this article, we'll discuss:

What is the Email Campaign Tracker?

With Leadinfo Email Campaign Tracker you generate special URLs to place in your email campaigns sent through tools such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or any other email platform. These URLs contain unique parameters that help Leadinfo recognise who clicked the link and visited your website. Showing you exactly which contact engaged with your Email Campaigns.

Why should I use the Email Campaing Tracker?

The Email Campaign Tracker shows you which contacts visited your website through a link in your email campaign. This gives you a clear overview of which contacts continued their journey on your site, helping you identify who is genuinely engaging with your marketing and showing real buying intent.

Benefits of using the Email Campaign Tracker

  • See which known contacts arrive on your website from your email campaigns.
  • Understand what these contacts do on your website after landing there.
  • Identify high-intent contacts who move from email to your site.
  • Connect email campaign performance directly to website behaviour.
  • Improve your follow-up by knowing which contacts are actively engaging with your content.

How does the Email Campaign Tracker works?

Once you generate a tracking URL and place it in your email campaign, Leadinfo can recognise contacts who arrive on your website through that link. If the visitor’s details match a contact in your database, Leadinfo shows the identified person directly in your inbox and activity timeline.

What happens step by step

  • You generate a tracking URL in Leadinfo.
  • You place this URL in your marketing emails.
  • A contact receives the email and clicks the link to visit your website.
  • Leadinfo checks if the visitor matches a known contact in your database.
  • If recognised, the contact appears in your Leadinfo inbox with their name and details.
  • In the company overview, a Persona Insights icon shows that one or more known contacts were active on your website.

This allows you to quickly see which specific people from each company engaged with your email and visited your website.

How can I generate an Email  Campaign Tracker URL?

In a few clicks, your email tracker is created. This tracker can be used in your email campaigns to identify the contacts coming from an email campaign to your website. Follow the steps below to generate your first email tracker.

Step 1: Navigate to your settings in the Leadinfo portal.

Step 2: Under "Data Management" , select E-mail Campaign Tracker.

Step 3: Select the website you want to link your email to. Note that this can only be a website that is being tracked by Leadinfo.

Step 4: Define the exact landing page of your link.

Step 5: Select the email platform you want to use to send the email.

Step 6: Select the button "Generate URL". You can now copy the URL in the screen and use this as a link in your email campaign.

Add UTM parameters to your email tracker

Leadinfo allows you to add UTM parameters to your Email Campaign Tracker. UTM parameters are small pieces of text added to a URL that help you track where your website traffic is coming from. By adding them to your tracking URL, you can continue measuring your email campaigns as you normally do and easily distinguish between different campaigns or audiences.

Step 1:  In the Email Campaign Tracker, follow step 1 to 5.

Step 2:  Before you generate the URL, select the button "Add UTM Parameters".

Step 3: Fill in as many parameters as you wish to. You can choose out of the following:

  • Source
  • Medium
  • Campaign
  • Term
  • Content

Step 4: Once you filled in all the parameters you want to track, press "Generate URL".

Step 5: You can now copy your URL and use this in your campaign. The URL contains both the Person Idenfication and the UTM Parameters.
