Why does my Google Ads show a ''no data'' notification?

When using Google Ads, you can connect your Google Ads account directly through the portal's settings. Once the connection is made, all Google Ads data can be pulled in, allowing you to track which campaign visitors came from and what search keywords they used to land on your website.

However, you may come across a notification in the visitor profile within Leadinfo. The specific message you might see is: "No data available in your Google Ads account, mostly caused by bookmarked 'gclid's."

This message indicates that no data can be retrieved from the connected Google Ads account at the moment. Several reasons can cause this issue, so follow the steps below to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Ensure admin access

The Google Ads account connected to Leadinfo must have admin rights within the Google Ads account. Make sure the account you're using has the necessary permissions to retrieve data from Google Ads.

Step 2: Enable URL parameters in Leadinfo settings

Check the Leadinfo settings to ensure that URL parameters are enabled. This ensures that the tracking information from Google Ads is properly captured.

Step 3: Enable auto-tagging in Google Ads

Auto-tagging should be enabled within your Google Ads account to ensure the proper tracking of Google Ads data. More information on how to enable auto-tagging, can easily be found in this article.

Step 4: Refresh the integration

After completing the previous steps, take a moment to refresh the Google Ads integration within Leadinfo. This action will update the settings and helps retrieving al Google Ads data.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and prevent the ''no data'' notification from appearing in Leadinfo.
