Data Collection
What personal data does Form Tracking collect exactly?
Form Tracking captures all HTML form submissions on the main page, including hidden fields. Only submitted events are tracked, so data is recorded when a visitor actively submits a form. Sensitive fields such as passwords are hashed and not readable. Forms embedded in cross-origin iframes are not captured.
How does the Form Tracking feature technically record submissions?
The tracker detects when a user clicks the submit button on a form and captures all input fields client-side, including hidden fields. Attempted submissions are also logged, even if client-side validation prevents successful submission.
Does Leadinfo record forms even if they are not successfully submitted?
Yes. Form Tracking records all attempted submissions once the submit button is clicked.
Can I exclude specific forms from tracking?
Not currently. Leadinfo captures all HTML forms on the main page (excluding cross-origin iframes) and hashes sensitive fields like passwords. There is currently no option to exclude individual forms from tracking.
I just activated Form Tracking, but don't see anything in my inbox?
This is correct. As soon as form tracking is activated, Leadinfo will show you the form submissions executed in furture visits. This feature does not work retroactively. Therefore, if you have forms on your website, you will see the submission in your inbox for all website visitors in the future.
I activated Form Tracking a while ago, but don't see anything in my inbox?
This can be correct. Do you have any forms on your website? If you don't have any forms active on your website, Leadinfo cannot show you a submission. Moreover, if you do have forms but these are using an HTML <iframe> element, we cannot show the submission in your Leadinfo inbox.
GDPR Compliance
Does Leadinfo store or only process the data on our behalf?
Leadinfo acts as a data processor. The data remains under customer control and is not used for other customers or Leadinfo’s internal database.
Can I rely on legitimate interest for B2B marketing under GDPR?
Leadinfo itself does not provide legal guidance. In general, for B2B marketing activities, companies sometimes rely on legitimate interest as a legal basis under GDPR. Customers must carefully evaluate this with their legal team, considering factors such as whether the contact is a professional/business contact and whether the tracking is proportionate to the business purpose. MailTrack URLs and other tracking features should only be used if the customer determines that a lawful basis, such as legitimate interest or consent, is in place.
Is Form tracking GDPR Compliant?
Form tracking is GDPR compliant when used as intended. Leadinfo acts as the Data processor. As a client, you act as the data controllers. Therefore, you must obtain consent from your websitevisitors and provide transparency about processing. This cna be for example via Cookie banners or your Privacy Statement.
Is there a DPA that covers Form tracking?
